"Mom, were you ever pregnant?" asked my 8 year old son. "No, honey. Since you and your sister were adopted, I was never pregnant"
"When a woman is pregnant, it's the beginning of a new life cycle."
"Yes, Jake. It is."

I love hearing what's going on in Jacob's head. Amazing! He is so smart.
I was once able to see Gary Larson's vision as he showed two ants sitting on a hill. They are staring up at the starlit sky, and one says to the other, "Kinda' makes you feel small, insignificant..."
I think it is wonderful that your child would be filled with such a grasp for abstraction.... Wild. I am 37, and still trying to get a grasp.
